Bret, I don’t think drive way fishing will work in this contest.

I rifled through my archives and I don’t have any pics of myself and the auger. I have plenty with my Strikemaster bibs on?

I guess I’ll just have to hope the ice fishing season comes soon.

    Chris,

I got to run the 4 stroke last year and really loved it…Whats the difference between the Solo and the 4 stroke ?

From an earlier post made by James “I’m out of town” Holst…

    Quote:

The difference is in the powerhead. The Solo augers have a new German engineered powerhead available in 2, 2.5 and 3 HP sizes with all HP motors weighing the same so there’s no weight penalty for jumping to the higher HP motors. I haven’t seen any torque figures on these motors but after punching hundreds of holes with a 2 and a 2.5 HP model this past winter I can tell you, without question, these new motors are much, much faster through the ice than anything else I’ve ever used.

I’ll echo the words from Brian/James. I was a bit disgusted in previous years that my old Strikemaster Lazer seemed to burn holes much faster than any new stuff due to some possible new regs placed on emissions? With this new set up they are leading the way. Light….Fast……and POWERFUL!! I’m looking forward to HOPEFULLY seeing if I can wear one out this season . Drilling holes like it were a new OLYMPIC EVENT!!

If you like fast machines and loud chainsaw sounds the solo is for you. This is the badest augerhead ever. It will turn a lot of heads this winter. I know it got me fired up for ice fishing this year.

I could use a new auger. Better find my camera, and a pretty girl holding a big Smallmouth

    Awesome job StrikeMaster

I can’t imagine anything cutting faster than my Express Mag. The Solo must be an auger on steroids

The Solo looks pretty cool. Can anybody explain the compression button that you have to push before each pull. Seems a little wierd and an extra step to do when starting the auger. Is that to make it pull easier? What happens if you forget to push the blue button? I just watched it in the Strikemaster video. Solo starting procedures Thanks!

Compression…or Compression Releases as we called them on motorcycles have been around a long time. They let a little air out to make starting easier.

If you forget to use it…no big deal on most engines. On the smaller engines you’ll be putting more pressure on the starting rope.

I use mine on my 4 stroke StrikeMaster and it pops back out all by its self.

    Rule 6 kinda stinks

Just wait until you see the mine fields I’ll be tearing up this season.
