A buddy and I were able to spend some quality time on the water today. We were able to scrounge up enough for a couple meals. The bite was slow. We really didn’t get on fish until we found some schools in about 20fow. The schools would come through in the 12-8 foot range. Small gills would preceed the crappies. We’d catch a few small gills on diamond heads or gill pills. Anything with green on it was the ticket. Once the crappies came through, pimples seemed to do the trick. Tipping a decapitated crappie minnow sealed the deal. We did a lot of exploring and found a lot of spots that “looked good”, but didn’t hold fish. That would explain the lack of holes in these areas, but we figured that we’d never know if we didn’t try. It will be interesting to see how this week pans out.
Got to fish for 10.5 hours today
