    Kooty

I think you were one of the guys asking about ice houses with a slide out in a post a couple weeks back. When I was at the Cedar Lake Ice Contest this past weekend I bumped into the owner of Custom Cottages, Eric Bongard. He had his house there on display… and it has a slide out.

The slide out completely changed the feel of the house from long and narrow to SPACIOUS and it will be interesting to see how long it takes this feature to become commonplace in the industry.

If they make these houses any nicer the gals will never stay home and let us guys go play without them.

I was looking at these on the net the other night, what a cool idea, and the weight is half of the other shacks. Want to borrow me 20 grand to try one out

Want to see cool, go see one of these at the sports show and check out how the tires and spindles are mounted. Everything is modular and can be accessed from inside the house. Blow a tire? Fix it from the inside where it is warm. Obviously a lot of thought went in to some of the smaller details that most take for granted.

And as for weight… the demo unit at the show was 20′ long (If memory serves) with a slide out and all the fixtures and you can tow it with a ATV.

I think the entire spindle and bearing assembly can be replaced from the inside by removing one bolt. Don’t quote me on that as there was a lot to soak up in 3 minutes of tour time but I think that is accurate. And if that’s the case that is pretty darn slick.

I believe the owner said he had a retro-fit kit for skis for his houses too. If you could easily get skis under these light weight houses you could take them anywhere on the ice.

Ha, I found them shortly after I posted that one day. Yes, very, very cool shacks.

    Polaris Ranger 700HD – $13k
    Lightfoot Track System – $4500
    Cottage Shack – $20k

Kooty paying child support the rest of his life, priceless.
