Lake waconia

has anyone heard what is being caught out there? My grandparents live there and i am going in a week or so. How is the ice?

I have not personally fished Waconia in a few years since I moved further north. But when I lived in Chanhassen Waconia was a GREAT ice fishing lake for panfish. Lots of community holes to fish very easy. Remember your going to have better fishing away from the community holes, get away from the crowd a bit do some exploring and you will see the benefits of finding fish on your own.
The crappies from what I remember were very nice. Some as big as 12″ were not uncommon, lots of little fish to pass the day as well. Should be good fishing. If I remember right Cabin bait and tackle in Victoria should be able to point you in the right direction, as well as the little bait shop right on the lake in Waconia. Sorry don’t remember the name.
