Well I posted how good Sunday was so I better post how poor today was. 2 flags and drops and lock jaw gills that swam up to the jig in front of the camera and laughed right before they moved away.
The worst part at Goose and Green Lake is the 4 or so inches of slush on top of the ice… you heard me slush…. on a 0 degree morning??? The water on top is doing some damage to the ice , too. I did step through the ice with one foot in a location I have walked over numerous times before today.
For those of you that fish below the dam at Genoa later in the year that yellow green slushy scum was almost all the way across the channel last night. It honeycombs up when the solid ice forms so if it doesn’t thaw in the warm up this weekend, then really be very careful later in the year. Especially early. Happy Hook-ups
