Wouldnt you know it. I get all stupid and criticize the Ice Expo and then what happens, MY FATHER IN-LAW WINS THE TWO NIGHT STAY AT HUNTERS POINT ICE FISHING. From now on I will stick my foot in my mouth..

So – what would be the best time to go for ice fishing , walleye of course, but some nice perch would be great too.

Best time for big fish is the earliest they will let the big houses out. Staying out over night during this time of the year typically puts out the biggest fish of the year. Reason being is lack of noise. With very little traffic on the lake these bigger fish are cruising at night looking for an easy meal. As the season gets later and more fishermen start fishing these fish will pull of structure and roam to find there food, making them harder to pattern and sometimes harder to catch as well.

Congrats on your inlaws winning the trip…
