Zumbro Lake Ice and Fishing report-please

Anyone have a report? A friend wants to take his grand kid down tomorrow. Being new to the area,…he’s nervous about how the current may affect the ice. Thanks

Call Hooked on Fishing….they should have the most up to date info.

You could probably fish behind the point at Fisherman’s Inn, but I doubt if they’re making it out to any other areas yet.

There are better options for first ice and a grandkid!!!

The ice on the lake is marginal for foot traffic. The current poses some problems and I’d suggest giving it a few more days especially with snow cover on the ice now….wet spots with bad ice won’t be so visible.

Lake Zumbro is the LAST body of water to get decent ice due to current and springs. Foster Arends is another last place too due to the depth of the water and springs but you can ice fish from the dock there. Shallow bodies of water with NO current are best for getting on the ice early as they freeze up first.
