One other thing I will mention… It isn’t only the spring that you want to try and protect. it is the grommet that the spring is in as well. Last year, I had the grommet break off the top of one of my St Croix Legends in different case I was using. At $20 to send it in and have St Croix fix or replace it… I decided to just use some epoxy and fix it myself. It wasn’t the most beautiful… but it works!
