    Marcum 825c vs Brand A.
(Brand A does not stand for NatureVision)

    Conditions: Overcast Day

    Location: Mississippi River (open water)

Depth: 24 to 26 feet of water

Lights were not used on Camera M.

The first and second picture is from Camera M.

Camera A took the next three photo. The first one is with the lights off. The second one is with the lights on and the last photo is of the bottom with the lights on.

These are actual captures of video taken, without any alterations. The captures from Camera A are the best I could find off the clips that we took. The worst are all black.

For the purpose of full disclosure, Marcum is a site sponsor…but not my sponsor.

MarCum is one of my sponsors but in this case I don’t think that you even have to say that. That is an awsome comparrison.

WOW! What a difference. Although I’m not impressed with the pictures of camera M. Those are some ugly fish. Can you adjust the camera to show better fish? The imaging of camera M is AMAZING though!

The flathead pics from camera M are excellent but what model are you comparing them to? What does camera A represent?

A smaller screen, less clarity and a need for better light pick up at this depth on the ‘sippie.

Personally, I think it’s the Sony camera that’s being used in the Marcum that’s making all the difference in the world.

That’s astounding. Thanks for posting that. I don’t suppose you or anyone else knows of somewhere that we/I could find more comparisons like this (maybe with NatureView and/or AquaVu)??

    Welcome to Ido Mr Moose!

I have never seen any comparisons between cameras besides my little adventure.

It’s not really a fair comparison. The Marcum is a high end color underwater camera…and all other cameras just don’t have the high end Sony camera hanging in the water.

There are entry level cameras that are very good for what your paying for. Then there is the best that’s out there.

So what would the picture look like on camera M if the lights were on? Would it help or distort the picture?

Although MarCum Cameras use dark light technology (fancy words for blue LED lighting with these lights above the camera not around the lense), Using the lighting will still pick up some particulates in the water.

Having the lights above the camera greatly reduces the “snow storm” effect.

The main difference you’re seeing is camera quality. MarCum’s high end sony cameras take in more light. (LUX)

Excellent to see the comparison we’ve been talking about.

Since there wasn’t a need for the two little leds on the Marcum to be turned on…they weren’t.

If you would like to see how the lights work in 50 to 60 feet of water…where there is no light.. check out this video.

I think you can tell when the lights come on.

I am a dealer for Aquaview(OUTDOORS INSIGHT), and anyone worth their salt buys a camera by the picture they see.. although I am satisfied with the pictures I get.. Brian has always been a straight shooter and I have no reason to believe he would do anything to deceive us. In this case I would have to say the proof is not in the pudding, but in the pictures… thanks for taking the time to show the difference Brian
