Mike C and I found there to be an ok sauger bite going on in 18fow. We were only on the ice a few hours after work and we each caught just enough for a fish fry.
Not to sound like a broken record but, a number of holes and staying on the move is the key to keeping the action in your favor.
With the StrikeMaster a line of holes were drilled from 15fow out to 22fow. After hole hopping the MarCums revealing the majority of the fish hanging in 18fow so the auger was fired back up to follow the break line giving us more holes to fish staying at the 18 foot depth.
While the sun was out Black/Silver Jig N Rap tipped with a minnow head was too much for the fish to resist. Once it clouded up and the sky started to darken the Fire Tiger was the way to go.
