It may have been thought of before but I am a little slow. last winter the rubber strap that holds my auger cover on broke in the cold weather. Being the procrasinator that I am I waited to find a replacement. I tried Joes 3 times and gander a couple of times and they were sold out. I decided to take a bungee cord in the basement and tie a knot in each end and then cut off the hooks with a siccors. It works great and I am hoping that it will not snap like the rubber ones in the really cold weather. Just thought I would share.
