Great Episode! I’ll have to try this tactic when I’m out there next week!
No matter where I’m fishing skinny water stick baits is one of my fave techniques.
James whats your rod of choice for this technique?
I know since James got his Tuned Up Apex 6’8″ MXF it rarely has left his hands. Seriously! I think I got to make one cast with it!
I watched part of the episode the morning it aired from the motel room in Sisseton, SD. We had just caught our limit of Waubay eyes trolling cranks the prior evening. We searched all over during the day, but I admit we didn’t try any shallow bays. This past weekend the pattern held true on a ND lake. Although we really couldn’t get away from the pike we did find a few walleyes that were able to hit the crank (countdown raps) before a pike was able to nail it.
Great show!
