James or Joel, did either of you try using soft plastics while filming this episode for those finicky gills? I’m just curious if you tried them out and got rejected and were forced to use euro-larva or you guys just never tried them out. A few times I’ve found where the really finicky crib gills preferred micro plastics to the euro-larva. Watching the show got me thinking and I’m interested to hear what you fellas tried, thanks.
gota agree with the litter thing, wether its lakes rivers or the atv orv trails we gota clean up our crap….. that’s how the greenies get stuff shut down. on a lighter note awesome panfish episode!! it seems I learn something every show.
@icefantic11 – I did not try soft plastics, though I agree, I’ve seen bites where finicky gills far prefer the action of soft plastics vs. live bait. So often, it’s about finding the right fish in the right location, that seemed to be the connecting variables for this bite. Put it in the right spot for the right fish, and as long as you didn’t over-jig, you’d catch them. Too far from the crib, or on a crib where fish weren’t cruising, no bites for you!
Joel
@ Joel Nelson- It did definitely seem like you had to have the spot on the spot in the video, I’m sure it had to be frustrating watching those fish be so particular and negative. I would have been very interested to see if micro soft plastics would have changed the way the fish reacted at all. Thanks for the reply.
Which camera is this? it’s very clear. im currently considering an lx-7 or lx-9. if the camera quality of the lx9 is this high i think my decision is made. Hard to find one in stock though.
I tried using mustache worms and waxtail and couldn’t but a fish. I think these particular fish have been hit so hard they’re extra picky.
Love the show and the editing. I teach a high school multimedia class and use Sony editing products. I was just wondering what editing products ido uses. Thanks.
