With the late season coming to an end, I figured I could sneak out and hunt ths last few days. The weather has changed several time in the past week. Going from cold to 42 degrees and back to cold. The first picture is of Saturday afternoon 12-13. We started in one field Saturday morning where we had little luck. Then a couple of friends and I went to check out another field. While setting up the decoys, we could have pass shot our limit, but decided to wait for decoying bird. We ended up shooting our 6 in about 1/2 hour.
I hunted Thursday with some friends from the cities. The weather was mostly sunny with w SSE wind. The temps have been cold, so we decided to meet around 8:30. Mike an I pre-set the field and went to pick up the guys. When we drove into the field, there was 1 lone goose sitting in the decoys.
There were not many birds to work with, but we did damage with the ones that came. First we had a pair come in and we got those. Them 4 and we whacked them. A single then another 4. Finally 10 minutes before shooting time was up, we shot 4 more to end the day with 15.
Nice goin’! I was up there 12-16 & 12-17. My Bro-in-law lives in Roch. We killed 11 the 2 days I hunted.
Looked like you had a great late season hunt Tim! Great job putting your friends and your clients on some excellent shoots this year. You can certainly tell by the frequency of your reports and all the pictures you post, that you run a class act guiding business!
Now I just need to get down there!
Tim I am not much of a goose hunter but I am going to have to set some time aside next year and hook up with you, looks lke a blast. Congrats on a great year.
I’ve never bird hunted and I’d love to give it a try…I’ll definately be looking you up!
