Musky action on the Chippewa Flowage is picking up, the big fish have started to show up. We are getting most of our action on cowgirls on main lake weed bars, the most productive ones have the wind blowing in on them, and the river channel close to them.
the weather has been pretty stagnent lately, so we are watching the moon a lot for our action. all of our action on days when its sunny and no weather moving in are during the major and minor fish feeding times and moon rise and moon set.
we filmed for my new DVD on Flowage Muskies the last 4 days, we got some nice fish, a low 30 inch fish, a 36,40,46,47 1/2. all on cowgirls. prior to that we got a few upper 30 and low 40 inch fish as well. Days that there are weather moving in, the fish are moving all day long. when its sunny out, our action is slower, but the fish we are seeing are bigger, and they are bitting.
Water temps now are in the low to mid 70’s, fishing should just get better as it cools down like its supposed to this week.
Good luck,
Tanner Wildes
