Pool 4 Multi-Specie Update

As we rapidly approach the month of August, hanging your hat on just one specie can be a bit limiting for action. Clive has recently updated me with some of his recent outings.

Hot weather normally means lights-out Pike action on Pool 4.This year however variable water levels have made the Pike bite a bit less predictable but patience paid off for Clive on this nice Pike.He reported a handfull of other fish to the boat as well.

Hot weather also means the Channel cat bite is in full swing. A combination of cut-bait,stinkbait and the old standbye of nitecrawlers are producing good numbers of "thumbs up", quality fish. The river did produce a handfull of 20 plus pound flats this week and a couple of sturgeon. The channel cat bite is been well above average for our cabin guests.

The walleye bite overall is a bit hit in miss on the upper end of Pool 4,but with the stage & flow presently, the dragging jig bite has clearly been overall, the most consistant and productive of all the presentations. We are probably seeing more quality of fish rather than quanity overall, but limits of eater sized fish have made there way to the guide boats this past week. As always, reading water is the number one key to success or lack there of.

Special thanks to Clive for his recent update,we appreciate the efforts and the catch n release efforts you make! Good job Clive!
