Lake Puckaway walleye report

We started casting little cleos to the the shore lines in about 3 feet of water and the slite wind was blowing us towards the shore . The weeds are just coming up about a foot high in the area we are fishing. We were using 2/5 th once cleos , in the red and gold color pattern. We were about 100 yards off shore yet when she had a hit and the fight was on . She Pulled in a nice 21 inch walleye and the big cleo was completely in its mouth. Ussually they just got the treble in their lip when they hit.We also lost a big northern that was for sure over 32 inches on the same cleo.

The wind came up and it was cold so we headed for the river to warm up a bit . We were dragging 1/16th once jigs and dragging split shot rigs as well in the river. We caught some shorts and got another 18 inch walleye. Overall a great mourning fishing with Ryan and his new wife. Congratulations to the both of you.
