Wisconsin Walleye Fishing and Pike Fishing

Finished up my last week in green Bay last week and all I can say is Wow what an incredible year we had for some big walleye’s open water jig fishing. I will certainly troll like 99 percent of other anglers but there are times when you will out fish trollers jigging for eyes ecspecially when you land smack dab right in the middle of a big school of eyes. For me a 3 inch Kalins grub and 3-4 inch gulp minnows did the damage. We even spend a lot of time fishing the bay at night jigging and do extremely well, the point is…..don’t follow everyone and just troll out in the bay pick up that jig stick and throw some plastics and you’ll be amazed out there during the day what fish you’ll catch.

As far as the pike fishing goes we caught a bunch while walleyes fishing with spinning tackle and we also threw jerk baits and pulled live bait with suckers and did very well. Green bay is an amazing fishery!

  1. Holy Hanna Batman!!!

Can you provide us with specifics around when this bite starts getting underway and how long it tends to run so we can plan trips to visit you next year?

I’ve been looking to get into some Green Bay fishing for a few years now but do not know anyone in that area.

Well done on the big ones.

  2. Bite really last almost all year, I just fish it in Spring because I enjoy being married and work up in the bay M-f and come home on the weekends, but I like my chances for big fish in spring and fall. for filling up the freezer may and June are the 2 best months for numbers.

    Best of luck!

  3. Judging from the fish pics you’ve posted through out the spring, I’d say you’re 100% right about the quality of fish Green Bay has to offer
