Wisconsin Fishing Steelhead and Brown Trout Report

We’ve had some exceptionally large steelhead this past week, but overall the fishing continues to be pretty solid for the most part. Some days we’re landing 2-7 fish per trip and other days we landed 14-32 fish per trip. Lots of steelhead this year so far.

The numbers of browns are down a bit this year but overall the steelhead bite continues to be awesome ice fishing!

Still using a varity of baits such as jigs, skein spawn (cured and un cured) minnows, plastics and jigging spoons.

A couple of the bigger trout took over 20 minutes to land which is insane! These fish will test your ice fishing tackle!

  1. Nice fish Eric, I got to get back out there, It was painfully slow last time I was out, hoping for some steady action this time.

  2. Eric,

Those are some dandy fish with exceptionally beautiful coloration. I may have to try it when it warms enough to get my little boat out.
