This past month has been fantastic for browns and steelhead fishing both through the ice and open water fishing. I have not seen such great numbers of steelhead returns ever and these steelies fight like crazy through the ice!!! In the past month I have been running both open water and Ice trips. This past week we had 3 days where we caught 51, 47 and 64 trout all in 5 hour charter trips. I have also had some very good day through the ice with some exceptional large fish. The numbers almost seem incomprehensable, but somedays that’s how good the bite can be!
The pattern does change somedays from live bait to plastics and from skein to spawn or jigs and swim baits depending on where we are fishing.
I’m super pumped with Frabill’s new Hub pop up tents! Where I ice fish it’s virtually impposible for ATV or Vehicle travel so everything is pulled by hand which makes things a pain at times, but with these new tents they pop up quick and set up perfect for my style of fishing I AM thoroughly impressed with them!!!
This bite will continue for the next couple of months.

Sorry for the flood of pics but trying to catch up on posting it’s been my busiest winter to date so it’s hard to keep up……..
these guys hired me for 4 consucutive days and landed over 200 trout in 4 days which is above average. Most were steelies but plenty of browns mixed in as well.
Crazy with the pics but I’m only posting 1/2 of all the pics from recent trips……
my wife with her first steelhead through the ice in a while we landed 14 fish in 4 hours of fishing when I had a client cancel. Lots of fun!
