Mille Lacs Report 12/23/03

Adam spent the afternoon on the ice chasing trophy walleye with Dan, Mark, Matt & Jake. Again, the action was not fast but the kids got to ice 3 dandy walleye in the few hours they fished and they were all very nice fish. The first picture is Dan, Jake and Matt with a 26 inch fish.

The bite remains pretty constant, icing one fish an hour. However, with the nice weather and fish that are averaging 26 inches it is worth the wait. The next picture is Mark holding the biggest fish of the day. I believe this fish taped in at 27 1/2 inches

This was a fun day for the kids as they got to haul in all these big fish. There is nothing better than watching a kid pull in a trophy walleye. This last picture is Dan with the boys and other great fish.

I have to throw in a plug for Polar fishhouses. You can see one of our new Polars pictured in the background. That is the new 4-man Polar that works perfect for guiding on the ice. It was a real hit for todays clients as they could all "hangout" together in the house.

  1. If you are interested in getting in on the action I have a benefit trip up for auction under the For Sale Forum. The trip is 1/2 day guided fishing this Sunday 12/21/03 from noon-5PM and is good for two people.

  2. Scott, how have the clients in the sleeper houses been doing? I’m getting pretty anxious to get up there next weekend!

  3. The sleeper clients have been doing very well. Last nights group had 3 big fish and broke a couple lines. I haven’t checked on them yet this AM. Chappy and company were up there the night before and it sounds like they did pretty well also. Good enough they wanted to stay other night. Unfortuately, we were booked up.

The sleeper is on a very good spot.

  4. 14 inches as of yesterday to the sleeper house. There is some 12 inch ice out to the Mud but pressure ridges and open water make it a tough trip if you are going there.

  5. Scott, I have to tell you, those are some of the best “report” pictures I’ve seen!
I’m sure there’s been others out there, but your caught my eye. Blue sky, youngsters, a good eye and dad.
I maybe going a little deep here…but these are the things that keep families (and people) whole…

    Good report….Great Pictures!

  6. Scott, you really live a rough life! Glad to see you are enjoying it Bud. Keep havin fun, keep catchin them fish, keep the reports and pics comin. Thanks, Bill

  7. I’ve been busy on the water and have been relaying Scott information to report. I’ve been having a lot of fun and have been meeting some real nice people. Some times our reports haven’t been exact, but close. Dan is in all three pictures with the boys, Matt and Jake. Mark was too busy taking pictures to get in any I took.

The boys were having a great time and they caught all the fish. The biggest fish of the day was actually a monsterous ealpout that the boys didn’t want to get close enought to take a picture. It gave Matt a nice fight and a nice surprise when it came out.
