Had some fantastic fishing this past week easily the best big blue gill fishing I’ve had in many years! All on public water! I don’t mind catching big gills out of private ponds and privates lakes, but there something much more rewarding about catching giant blugills on public water!
We also pounded the whitebass, smallies, crappies, largies, catfish, and caught walleye’s everyday as well. I will not forget this past week for sure!!!!
Tough hard fighting and very finky fish but we found the mother load! We actually released a lot more fish than we kept as well. Clients went home with a bunch of fish!
Biggest gills were hitting plastics custom spin and jigs ratso’s and shrimpo’s caught us our biggest gills by far! Sometimes tipping them with a spike or red worms also worked. All in 4-12 feet of water.
We also had several gills over 10 inches.
WOW those are HUGE!!!!
