Was out this past week everyday and sometimes twice a day doing multiple trips with clients. Fishing has been very consistent and we’ve been getting some very BIG browns this past week in the upper teens, along with our first salmon of the year which was really cool! Cranks, gulp, spawn, spoons, and stick baits all took fish depending on the day and where we fished. Flicker shad, and walleye divers in chartruse and blue worked the best shallow along with spoons. Found a couple of nice pods of fish and had most of the area to ourselves up until this past weekend.
Depending on the water temps and water clairity we fished both inside the harbor and out in the lake. Both were good, most days we had 12-25 fish and many in the 8-22 lb class. Which is crazy because no where else in the world a person can go out now and consistently catch these big browns! We are really spoiled here and Lucky to have these awesome fish in our back yards.
Best part of this week was fishing with 8 year old Grace she loved to fish and her dad was sick on the boat (flu) but stuck it out for his daughter and what a blast she had landing some big fish!!!!! Great to see the young boys and girls catching fish!
FYI Many of the other harbors the bite has been good as well such as Port, and Racine just gotta go out and find the fish!
FYI— I did have a client cancel a trip and now have 1 day left open in Green Bay this spring for big eyes and Pike on April 23rd.
Here’s a few more big fish from this past week. Twice we fished from shore when the lake was too rough in a couple of honey holes and actually did better from shore on both big fish and numbers of fish. One day we had 22 fish from shore and 1 day 16 fish from shore which was a blast! I grew up shore fishing and it’s such a pleasure to still get back to the old roots of fun fishing from shore!
In the 12 pictures I posted here from this past week the smallest browns was 14 lbs and the biggest just over 20 lbs. Great thing is that they were ALL released and hopefully be back this fall! I will be in Green Bay for the next 40 Days chasing Big walleye’s. Looking forward to that and revisit the browns a bit next Fall!

WTG, Eric!!! Watched your show on Fishing Journal this weekend. Boy, did that look cold!!! Brother was down with his kids the last week or so and both of them caught 29 & 31 inch fish. While I would probably release all except those that appeared to be injured, he kept and said they were very enjoyable smoked!!! Very glad to see his youngest catch a fish. He’s been a little harder to get hooked on the outdoors.

nnnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiicccccccccceeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
Thanks. I like smoked salmon (coho’s and kings) white fish and other smoked fish but I will tell you this these browns are nasty and I mean 95 percent of all my customers who have tried them think the same. They have a nasty smell to them, live in a nasty dirty harbor, feed on goobies mainly now which site at the MMSD (po po plant) and eat all that filtered water or human particulate…YUKE!
Very fun to catch but now way I’m eating a brown from here. I always try to tell people if you really want to try a few try the 2-8 lbers and let the big girls and boys go!
Funny thing is I really enjoy eating fish!
Was out today and clients caught 22 browns from 5-15 lbs most were 6-12 lbers castings, float fishing and trolling all worked.
Nice trout!
Good report Eric and awesome pictures! The smiles say a thousand words!
Good luck in Green Bay!
