Lake Geneva Mixed Bag

Made it out to Geneva yesterday in search of smallies. You know your cursed if you hook one on your first cast! Fished some deep sharp breaks and marked a few fish but most seemed to be suspeneded in the water colum down 15-20 feet in 30-40 feet of water so throwing darter heads jigs and swim baits with gulp was the first approach. After a few fish and slower than normal action we moved up into the weeds where we found both smallies and largies putting the feedbag on!

Pike were mixed in on both the drop offs and the weeds, they are starting to migrate back up into the weeds now as there’s always a good casting bite for pike in sept and Ocotober on Geneva.

We also found some area’s where clients caught some nice gills and seeds, mainy drop shotting red worms, or fishing suspended down abut 30 feet in 40 feet of water

water is still warm and the fish are cruising the 12-25 foot depths where there forage base is (gills and perch). As it cools the majority of the big smallies will follow the perch down out to the deeper point and rock bars

Good fishing to all!
