I am not too thrilled the way thing transpired the past week! Thursday I had a decent bite going on bucktails. Enough to get me pumped and all set for the fall frenzy. I was picking up fish in depths from 6 to 20ft. With a fairly decent wind blowing, I also picked up fish trolling cranks.
Friday afternoon found a decent bite right up to sundown. the same program produced a short burst of action just before dark. Staying vertical with hair jigs again was the key. Saturday I did a split shift. The morning action was was slow with only a couple of fish coming to the boat. The night session went better with a total of 6 eyes caught on bucktails and whistlers. After dark we opted to stay on the water and troll cranks. My advice right now is to stick with daytime fishing!
Sunday morning was a shorter trip, but we did manage 4 eyes vertical jigging. We did pick up some smallies by trolling cranks. The bass were located in 13 ft of water.Today I made a solo trip and ended up with 3 eyes. Again vertical jigging hair was the ticket. An old fishing partner was working an area nearby. The photos are of a couple of nice bass taken on jigs and minnows.
I am not hitting the 20 to 30 fish a day yet. There is enough action to make it exciting though. Get out and enjoy and I will see ya on the water.
