With the MWC over and the wind letting up. The RCL should have some heavy weights unless the wind blows all next week. Last week we had some excellent fish on the lake.
But the heavy winds made it very hard to fish.
I was working bucktails and crank baits. This fish came on a crankbait on a point on the lake.
The smallmouth are just chowing on the bucktails.
Down in the river and up on the lake.
You need to find the rocks with breaks to deep water.
Then you will find the smallies. Here is a lake fish.
We worked the south end last week. The Small mouth were responding. The walleye’s for me were not near as nice as what I was getting in the lake. The wind made working dams very tough.
Today I had the privilege of sharing my boat with the Outdoorswoman. New member on the board.
This lady can jig..she out fished me..
We worked the north end and she took home some very nice fish.
Even with the wind factor we managed to bucktail a few walters.
We caught a couple of fish just draggiing crawlers also.
Melissa is going to be a up and coming factor in the tournament world. Look out guys, she has a very hot hand.
Thanks Mel great day on the water,in some very crappie weather.
Vandy,
Looks like you got some nice fish there. I had some good fish on hair a couple of days ago. Purple was the best color for me what’s working for you? I found my fish on hair in really shallow water, 2′ to 3′. What kind of depths have you been concnetrating on?
The fish took plastic over hair for me the other day. I had some really nice fish vertical jigging purple/chartruse tail ring worms . I like hair jigs but I love it when they go for the rubber
Nice fish you 2.
I have had my best luck with the basic black..vandy jig.
The place I’ve have been targeting are sharp drops..the fish are hitting the jigs in 6 to 10 feet of water..
Say I’m going to save my rubber until next weekend then look out…
We had a great day on the water today.Even with that really crappy weather. My boat had a really good stick in it..boy can that girl fish..
