Chester Woods 1-13

Got a call from C&R (Chris) on friday night. He was wanting to fish the woods for some Gills & crappies. Didn’t take long to find some gills that were willing to be iced.

We started off drilling a bunch of holes & proceeded to check each & everyone looking for fish. This area was near the main creek channel with lots of timber. As we were working this area I kept moving closer to lots of timber & Chris went futher out over the main channel. I Didn’t move to far when I got into a mix of fish. (Gills & crappies)

Even a bass fell for this set up today, not a biggin but was a blast on light tackle. As the afternoon came upon us we moved again to a new spot that had a point that shoots toward the main part of the lake. Hoping this area would hold some crappies & we weren’t dissapointed! We caught a lot of fish but most were in the 10in range.

We fished till about 9pm & called it a day. That walk just don’t get any shorter. LOL I’m just gettin older!
All gills were released to be caught another day.
We did keep enough crappies for dinner.
Lure of the day? It was a tie. Gill Pills & Diamond jigs/with a waxie did the trick. Good fishin Doug
On a final note I’d like to add That I got the Snow Suit & It’s the best outdoor wear that I’ve ever put on!!! Simply Amazing!!! If your tired of being chilly or cold on the ice, this is the Suit For YOU!!!

  1. Just like good old times? Close….the company was just as good as ever. It had been 4 months to the day since I had a fishing pole in my hand. You know that’s a pretty amazing thing for me. It will be a while before I can go fishing in the capacity that I used to and enjoy my friends’ company. Hope to see you guys out and about

  2. At the get together last year a friend of mine was catching catfish down river from where we were. Chris said hes going to hop on his snow mobile and drive down there to see where hes catchin them at. I told him to get the cordinates. Have been teasing him since cause he never shared them with me.
    Thanks, Bill
