I Got the day off today so Vern Holets and I put 4 hours on the water. After a morning of cement work.. I thought the afternoon should be spent jigging up some slab crappies…
We hit the water at 1:00 pm and fish to 4:30. We targeted rocks and corners within the rocks. Presentation was vertical jigging small bucktails and the crappies were happy to help out..we brought home 9 nice slabs.
I also found a walleye in the 23 inch range but I wasn’t fishing for wally so we let her go. The sunnies are also on the hammer we caught and released many. It was a beautiful day to be on the water the boat traffic was nill…and the weather was fantastic. Just look at the flat water behind me. It must be heaven…the fish were just popping those jigs. Vandys bucktails..Black was the best.
Good luck
THANKS REEF RUNNER,
I’M COMING OVER THIS WEEKEND TO FISH POOL 5 FOR WALLEYE AND BASS. IT SOUNDS LIKE FISH ARE BITING.
Your welcome..
The walleye’s are still being tough but if you work at it you can get a few good ones…the bite should start to get better everyday. With the dropping temps and shorter daylight.
The Sunnys and Crappies are just unbelievable…I have never seen so many on the main channel in all my years of fishing down here.
Good luck..
I’m not real sure how the bite is on Pool 5 right now.
Thanks for the report Greg. Nice to see you got the pic thing figured out. It sure was a bear for me awhile back ago. Sounds like you guys had a great day on the water. Keep them reports and pics coming. Thanks, Bill
