In the last week I had the chance to make it out fishing a couple times on pool 3 of the Mississippi River. Both times out I had to work with a good breeze, so I found a few places to hide out off the main channel. The few places I went the fish were there but the size was not!
Both days I could have filled the live well with eaters but finding an EYE over 20 inches was a problem. I found the best way to trigger a bite was to drift threw an area and just let the jigs bounce off the bottom, I used no motors just wind!
I was useing 1/16oz knuckle ball jigs and the glow jigs seemed to work best in green and blue, with half a crawler.
For a little while each day I spent some time casting, but alls I ended up with were cats. Mostly all of them were small but the one pictured here got my heart beatin!!
The last picture here, well I think I set the hook a little early. Took the tail right off the grub and bit my ringy in half. Both these fish hung on for a few kicks then GONE I didnt know what the heck happened.
Nice fish Brian.
Thanks Jeff,
Nothin big enough to brag about but fun catchin that many fish.

We should be able to get out at the end of this week if you are down here.
Just an update on pool 3…
I made it out there for a little while this weekend.
And still pretty much the same bite, Small walleye and lots of cat fish.
There is hardly any current and the temp is now 74 to 77 depending where you are.
Good Luck Fishing
