Winnie continues to be a bite filled with 11-14 inch fish with small pockets of those ever-so-wanted 14-17 inch being found now and again. It seems the shoreline bite is the only thing going as of the last month, and it continues again this last week. If or when the water cools down the fall shoreline bite should be a dandy. By the looks of the forcast we are going to see are first look at those fall temps by the end of the week, this should improve the bite once it settles in.
The jigs and minnows continue to produce. The West shore from Sugar to Stoney point are holding some of the better numbers, yet the dishes and Tamarack point have some schools that are eating in that 8-10 foot of water. Cutfoot has finally seen some action the last week yet the pattern of those 11-14 incher are holding there as well
The northern action continues to impress with the rattle baits producing some good numbers. The perch are somewhat spread out with no great numbers of those magnum perch showing themselves like they have in the past this time of the year. Well as the fall slides into place, the bite should heat up and look for Winnie to be one of the Hotter bites in the state again. Bring on the fall, were ready for those days filled with pike, perch, crappies and eyes.
