Pokey continues to produce and just as we thought it seems that each night out the fish are getting larger. We are continuing to get those 15-17 inch eaters, but the 20-25 inch fish are showing up more regularly now.
On Friday night Ken Rexroth and crew were out on Pokegama with Tim Dorholt, Jeff Sundin and I and we had a great outing. The big fish for the night was only a 23 incher, but the action seemed to hold its own most of the night. Between the walleyes, rock bass, and small mouth bass it seemed the rods were bending most of the trip. Thanks for the great trip guys.
The presentation that seems to hold night in and out is those clown husky jerks at 1.5 MPH. THe large sand flat areas are still holding decent numbers but the smaller mid lake humps that top out at 7-10 feet are producing the best right now. Due to the fact that most of these humps are pretty small one will make a number of trips back and forth over them, but when its one fish a pass or every other pass it’s worth it. Well as we move towards the September and October Full moon the bigger fish should really come out to play, its gonna be fun.
