Part 2 of the small water quest for big fish

Part two of the small water quest for big fish brings us to one of the many small central Minnesota lakes in search of TOAD Largemouth bass. This trip has become an annual family affair. This year our group equaled 12 including 5 kids ranging from age 15 to 7. With great weather forcasted and memories of FANTASTIC fishing last year the final days befor we left seemed like weeks but finally thursday arrived I finished work and we were on the road the 3 hr drive flew by except for the final 30 minutes.(of course)

Friday morning came and we were on the water early. With the top water bite going the bait of choice water the good ole scum frog crawled over the lily pads.Making sure to stop in all of the (holes)it didnt take long befor the water erupted and fish on!!!

After coming back in for breakfast and waking up the kids. It was time to get the kids out fishing. As I said in part one pick anyone of these small pieces of water to escape the pressure of some of the bigger well known lakes and get your kids out and have some fun.

I have fished lots of small lakes and a few small rivers and these bodies of water just dont disapoint. The name has never mattered no pressure means better fishing anywhere you go. So skip the big lake or river and go small for big fish!!!! good luck and good fishing

  1. Corey, By far my favorite type of fishing (part 1&2) Thanks for sharing! Most of the time you have these areas all to yourself and the fish have not had everything and anything thrown to them.
