Well I have just got finished with three days on the water.
The walleye bite is tougher but you can still work your limits out with some persistance. With a few bigger fish thrown in to the mix. I have not boated any monsters but 23 and 25 inch fish have been showing up.
This first photo is of Bob Sanden with a nice 23 incher.
Bob and his wife Kerry were the winners of my donated trip for the St.Judes Hospital fund raiser sponsored by the Rochester Bass Club. I want to thank you guys for supporting this great charity event.
Kerry and Bob Thank you for a great day on the water.
We started our day draggin jigs with bait and every thing was going our way until noon time. When I got to thinking, look out I have an idea.
Well I moved to some other spots and we did not get another walleye all day.
However our morning saw over a dozen nice beautiful golden eyes to the boat the biggest being 23 inches.
This next photo is of Kerry with a nice 18 incher. Kerry had the hot hand for the day with eight nice eyes.
All fish from the last three days on the water were photoed and released.
I spent the last three days targeting moving water with jigs and bait.
I have been dragging jigs on current seams. Some have been on rock some have been sand but you need to have some current.
We have been using the new BfishN tackle dragon jigs and they are working well.
Baits have been crawlers, leeches and cats. If I had to choose one bait it would go to the crawlers right now.
Mike and I also took some nice eyes with a Black bucktails.
Here is one such fish that could not resist Mike’s presentation. This nice eye touched the tape at 25 and 1/2 inches.
This last photo is of Mike with a fish we took Saturday in some shallow water. She came out of 6 feet of water on a sand break. This was a nice 23 incher.
Mike took this fish on a cat and a dragon jig.
Well good luck to everyone and let the big girls go to grow.
Hope to see you on the water.
Here is a shot of Mike with a fish that just blasted his jig.
Here is another golden eye the fish this weekend were looking very gold.
Here is one that they let me catch.
Another dragon eye.
This is a shot of a fellow that was watching us Saturday.
If you were on the upper end of Pool 4 this weekend you may have seen this…it was awesome watching them run this rigs.
one more
The last photo is of Mike with one of those green fish and you guys can say what you want but they have to have very little brains.
Mike got this fish on pictured jig however there was no bait he throw it off. The fish hit a bare orange BfishN jig.
Dave I think you may have a new bass bait.
Nice report!
Nice eye’s guys .
Mike, put your shirt back on before you get your picture taken
Greg,
Is the Back Channel still runnable? The water is awfully low on Pool 3 right now so I was wondering about the Back Channel. It’s always good to see you and Mike out giving the walleyes heck but you need to ween him off those Bass. A young man has his reputation to think about!!
Hey Redneck
I have not run the back channel for a couple weeks to shallow for me, and I hate pushing.
Yea I hear you on the green fish thing
Nice report Greg. Thanks for sharing all the pics. But I think John S. is having a bad influence on Mike as hes catching bass now.
Thanks, Bill
Hey Bill,
Mike has learned a ton from John thats for sure.
He is always watching the shore and current seams for any swirls then in goes what ever he has handy and a dang green fish usually comes out.
We seem to always have a great time, but I won’t net his green fish
You won’t net them huh?!!! By the way, are you working with Dr. Frank next Tuesday morning the 24th? If so you will be stuck with me.
Thanks, Bill
