On Fathers Day Makenzie and Jessie took Nate and I out on Lake Zumbro for some fishing and swimming. Us big kids know that teaching our kids and grandkids about fishing will help ensure they will share in the great love for fishing that we enjoy. In the first pic is Makenzie Cadwell and her Daddy Nate.
Nate and I have been doing some fishing together on the lake which brings back alot of great memories that we started to made and shared on Lake Zumbro back when he was around Makenzies age on up. Lake Zumbro is a lake outside of Rochester to the north a few miles which makes it very close for some week night fishing fun and also on weekends. And with the high gas prices both Nate and I have decided to spend time fishing the lake together for some good father/son bonding time.
We also have been sharing our fishing times with Makenzie and Jessie. Fishing is a family sport where everyone can join in and once they are hooked on fishing they will be able to enjoy a lifetime of fun catching fish and just plain enjoying being on the water.
They lake offers some very good crappie fishing along with bluegills and bass and many other spieces too. The purpose of this particular report is not to share techniques on catching Lake Zumbro fish but to encourage anglers to take there kids, grandkids, wifes and girlfriends out fishing. Sharing your love for fishing with others so that they have a chance to experience the fun and that special feeling inside we have when we are on the water fishing for a lifetime too. And don’t forget to throw in alittle time for the kids to be able to enjoy swimming and playing in the water. Its makes for a very well rounded day of fun that will cause them to want to come again.
Thanks, Bill

Bill,

DOn’t forget the sunscreen (esp for the kids)..
Jack..
Looks like Fun there Bill
Sunscreen was applied several times to Makenzie and myself and Jessie [hers after the burn] as you need it these days. The rays are alot more harmfull now with all the holes in the atmosphere we have now. Am hoping to draw some attention to ”family fishing” and ”take a child fishing” with this report. We need to share and pass along our love for fishing with family and friends. Its a great sport, hobby and something everyone can enjoy no matter how young or old you are. For years I was caught up in fishing for walleyes only and tournaments and all that goes along with that but now I just want to fish and have fun. Doesn’t matter what spieces just as long as I’m on the water fishing. It makes for ALOT of fun. When theres a bite for a certain fish going on then get out and enjoy the bite. If its slow for your favorite spieces then fish for another spieces. I’m enjoying ”fishing” alot more this way. And alot faster action too. Some people target just big fish. Thats great and that makes great reports too. But this guy just wants to target fish period now and enjoy it all.
Thanks, Bill
