I had the privilege of sharing my boat today with John Stears, (AKA Riverfan).
We were on the water by 7:30 and fishing an area that I had been takng some walleyes the previous day.
But wouldn’t you know it when you think that you have them figured out they change the rules. Only small sauger were to be found. However on a return trip later in the day John stikes Gold, 10 pound gold. This fish weighed in on Deans scale at 10 pounds 1 ounce. Nice job John.
I struggled to get us our 12 fish for the day.
We had some great stories and some different fish.
I caught a flathead cat in the am and John caught a channel cat. What is up with all the catfish coming to the boats. Here is a picture of johns kitty.
This next photo is of the Bassman doing his thing with another one of those grass carp.
We were pitching shore lines with plastics and also working sand breaks. John was giving me lessons on boating fish. I think I am still behind by a few pounds.
This next photo is of John and myself with the days catch.
Thank you BrianK for helping with the photography.
We were not setting records with excess fish on this day.
I think our number would have been under 20 fish.
However we got the job done. Thank for a great day John.
Here is a photo of the sunrise on Thanksgiving morning.
Here is a picture of the lockside on the 24, there were plenty of boats taking advantage of the great weather and the great bite.
Here is a sunset from the 24 really a beautiful way to end a great day of fishing.
The last photo is of my best two fish of today the 25 of November.
I was doing alot of different presentations today and my fish count was really in a lull.
However I ended the day with a flurry about 4:30 to 5:00 pm I was pitching K- grubs on a 1/8 ounce to the current break. Just that fast I had one 14 inch eye 2 16 inch eyes and a 21 1/2 incher and a 23 incher.
Thanks Jim for the assistance with the photo.
Greg,
Nice report, super pics! Thanks.
dave
Thanks for the pics Vandy!
Gerg,
THANK YOU, it was my pleasure. We share a common fishing partner in Mike Anderson but don’t get many chances to get in a boat together. Last fall we did a bass trip, this time it was Greg’s choice, walleye. It was a great day with lots of good conversation and a chance to learn.
Thanks Again
John
Nice toad John!!! Way to go Vandy!!
Everybody knows I am trying very hard to convince my wife to move to the area…I am in love with Pool 4…
Great pics…can’t wait until March!!!
Greg,
Nice report, and pics, and very nice Walleyes!!!!!
Good to see and talk to you Saturday afternoon.
Jack..
Thanks for the report and pics Greg. Very nice fish and pics. Think I found myself a new screen saver.
Thanks, Bill
Hey Bill,
Why do you want a picture of a bass guy holding a big eye for a screen saver………
PS your very welcome my friend.
Not only a a bass guy but an ugly bass guy!
I’m talking about the pic taken from Everts shore. Sorry John but I’ll let your wife have the one of you holding the fish. Wouldn’t want her to get mad at me. May have to change that screen saver though as it sure is getting hard looking at that pic as it makes a guy homesick for the river. But I’ll tough it out for awhile yet. Thanks.
Thanks, Bill
John, I think you need to catch another walleye.
I’ll leave this to you guys.
But the smile looks alot bigger with gold in hand.
John I had a blast
Without a doubt John looks much more happy with a WALLEYE in his hands. Time to put that new Etec behind a big Alumacraft boat John.
Thanks, Bill
