Walleye & Sauger Pool 4 Report

Well it has been a long time since I posted a report.

Mike is here for some Thanksgiving fishing. His timing could not have been better.

The sauger bite on Pool 4 just doesn’t get any better.

With the flow down and the wind mild..it is almost unfair for the fish.

This first picture is of Mikes first November Walleye a nice 18 incher.

We started the day at 6:30 with a nice chat with Dean at Everts. He gave us all the hot info, and Mike wanted to say hello. We were eager to hit the water and Mike couldn’t wait to get his first fish.

Well 15 minutes later Mike boats a 18 inch walleye. Dang it there went my dollar for the first fish.

Mike’s hot bait was a Pro blue ringworm.

This next photo is of Mike with a 18 inch sauger. We caught 5 saugers that were 18 inches and over. They are just crushin the baits..the bite is well lets say awesome..they want to rip the rod out of your hand.

It just doesn’t get any better than this.

We had to make a short day of things today. This is our Thanksgiving day. Dinner was on for 1:00pm. So we were on the trailer and headed home at 11:30am. A big Turkey dinner waiting after the fish cleaning.

This last photo is of Mike with todays catch of 15 to 17 incher. I like to let all the 18 and up go they are our breeders, and true trophys.

Our best baits were Pro-Blue ringworms, Pro-Blue Super Doos and Pro-Blue paddle tails. Jig sizes were 1/16 oz to 3/8 oz.

We were on the water for 5 hours had thirty some fish to the boat. However Mike took my two dollars one for the first leagal and one for the biggest. Our biggest was 18 inches. I am really going to try and kick his butt tomorrow.

If you have the time the bite is hot, better get out and catch a couple before the weather winters on us.

Good Luck everyone.

Thanks Dean see you in the AM.

  1. Great to see Mike back in action with you Greg. Thanks for the report and pics.

Mike, I see the hair is still back so it must mean the women are still chasing you. Welcome back Buddy.

Look forward to your ”day after Thankgiving report” too.

Vandy, thanks for the pics!Good to see ya again Mike.Is the money going towards the haircut fund?

I doubt it Dean. The girls in his area love his long hair. If he just can find a gal that loves to fish then things will turn out ok. Theres still hope for him.
    Thanks, Bill

  3. Vandy,
Congrats to you and Mike! I saw you taking that pic as I was tying up the boat Thursday. I almost didn’t recognize Mike. That was a nice catch for the pic. You surely had them dialed in, and thanks for the tips on Wednesday, they helped.
