I got to spend a couple days on the water with my grandson Teven trolling cranks. It was a good opportunity to get Teven away from the computer games and show him how we used to entertain ourselves in the (OLE) days
I spent both days on the west end trolling #5 jointed shad raps in 9 to 10 ft.Speed was from 2.8 to 3.1 and the plugs were fished inches off the bottom.Color selection lately has been a real rollar coaster as one day one color will work the next day zip.But my best colors in preference order were parrot/ fire tiger and blue/white.
We caught about 50 yellows and 5 17 to 20in walleyes for about 8hrs of weekend fishing and one cat stopped by for a photo. In talking to other anglers they are getting lots of yellows and a few stray crappie jigging north of the island. The fishing should continue to improve the next few weeks and lack of pleasure boating should give us some quality time on the water Joe,s Guide Service 641-749-2239

Was on clear lake Thursday and had a great time. Ended up keeping 30 yellow bass, 3 Walleyes that were 2- 17inchers and 1- 16 in. Had a couple catfish that were about 19* inches long. Dragging jigs with minnows. Nice wind out of the southwest.
