The bite remains consistent on the main lake. I have been spending more time with tourny fishing and less time on the local lake this year. It felt good to get out for some fun the past couple of days.
Started out with a late afternoon foray on Friday. The key was to cover water until you make contact. The fish are spread out on the main lake. Fishing the wind has been key to success the last few outings. Depths from 8 to 11 ft’ have been best.
Presentation wise, my best action has come pulling leadcore. even as shallow as I am fishing, this has worked best. Trolling speeds from 1.1 to 1.8 have been best. Along with eyes, some better sized pike are also providing action. I have not caught any panfish with this presentation though.
Monday I spent most of the morning and late afternoon til dark running the presentation. With the wind switch the bite slowed a little but still ended up being procuctive. The numbers seem to be down some this year but the quality is there. Good luck and I will see you on the water.
Thanks for the report Don. This is the lake that the small ARM Event is on everyone and is a fun lake to fish so be sure and sign up next year. Also has a real nice park at the boat ramp so great for the family too. Always enjoy reading reports on this lake because I get to fish it for the ARM Event. Any colors of cranks better than others. [you can pm me if you want] Glad to see you back on the lake Don.
Thanks, Bill
Nice to see someone catching fish out there. I always like to hear that there is no fish in the “dead sea”. I’m gonna try to get out there soon. How green is it?
Bill, perch and firetiger are working best. The lake is getting green but as long as there is a wind blowing it is ok. Krisko, let me know when you are getting out and I will give you some more details.
