Lake Menomin in Wisconsin was the location of another small ARM [Anglers for Role Models] fishing event. Bluegills, bass, walleyes, northerns, rock bass, and whitebass were the fish that the anglers caught. Our boat concentrated on the gills and largemouth bass mostly with walleye and smallmouth caught at the head of the lake where the river enters the lake.
The first pic is Logan and Al with both catching a largemounth bass. The size of the bass weren’t real big but provided alot of action throughout the day. The water, even though having a green tint to it, was very clear and some of the bass fishing was sight fishing as you could see the bass which made it a very enjoyable way of fishing them. Logan was definately ”hooked” on this type of fishing
The techniques used to catch both largemouth bass and bluegills were a hook, spitshot and bobber with either a waxie or a piece of nightcrawler on the hook. I used a Mini Mite jig and plastic with a waxie. For catching walleye at the head of the lake where a river enters the lake I very slowly trolled with the front electic trolling motor a red hook with a leech and splitshot upstream. The next pic is Logan with a smallmouth bass.
This day was a small ARM event where fishermen take people fishing who are members of an organization called Big Brothers/Big Sisters. A ”big” and a ”little” are teamed up together to spend time together doing things together which is great for both partners. Taking them out fishing is a fun filled day for both them and the person who furnishes the boat to take them out on the water. Its a great way to meet people and make a difference in someones life. Please consider being a ”big” or being a person who takes them out fishing in an event like this day was. Introducing people to fishing and helping others to be able to be on the water who already like to fish is a day to remeber for all who take part. YOU can make a differnce in someones life and enjoy it too. THANKS for a great day guys.
Thanks, Bill
The smiles are the best part of the event.
Check out the smile on Cody’s face.
