Weather wise this had to be one of the better holiday weekends in recent memory. The best thing about it was the the fish were biting. The best presentation for me the past few days has been live bait rigging. The method has been solid for some multi species fun.
Running Lindy rigs on the main lake flat in 7 to 9ft has been productive for eater size eyes and perch. Either trolling or drifting the flat has been productive. If you want to target pike, troll cranks in the same area. #5 jointed Raps, craw color have been the best. The second photo is H.D. Hanson trolling the main lake. Gills and smallies are still relating to shallow water rock to sand transition areas. Pitching jigs and ringies up shallow has been good for smallies. natural or darker colors have been the best.
Slip bobbering the same areas is producing a decent gill bite. Shoreline that tapers off into 7 to 9 ft sand has been the best. Good luck and I will see you on the water.
