What a nice day to be on the water. It was meant to be the maiden voyage for the year to make sure everything worked. And the bonus was we caught some nice fish.
I went to east shore of lake by outlet mostly to get out of the wind and its also a major walleye spawning area.I went to a techinique that I like using with strong winds.I drifted a 1/8 ounce green/chartruce jig tipped with a Berkeley rainbow fleck power minnow.I bounced jig on botton with with slow lift and drop motions and has you can see a variety of fish were interested in this presentation.Afew of the yellows were almost trophy size and one nice silver.
I caught a few short walleye with one nice 18in fish coming to the boat for a pic.I saw alot of fishermen trying everything and everyone seemed to be having some succes especially on the yellows
I would have liked to have spent more time on the water but the skys were starting to look threatning.I am happy to say that everything worked and is ready for another tourny season

Joe, were you fishing on saturday out of the red lund by the outlet? I was with my brother fishing out of my father’s alumacraft lunker with a 50 hp honda. We had a lot of bites, but missed most of them. There seems to a ton of the little walleyes in the lake. We tried Dodge point and missed a few light biters there and saw a bunch of yellows caught by bobber fisherman. We also tried by the island where some little walleyes were caught also. I wonder where all the bigger fish are hiding? I am thinking the evening bite might have been better, but we didn’t stay very late either.
Yes That was me I had decent action most of the time I was there with the water temps in the high 50,s I would not be scared to start pulling cranks for the walleyes PS Next time you see me on the water stop and and chat
Thanks for the report Joe.
