Lake Zumbro Ice Fishing

Lake Zumbro continues to provide some great action on large bluegills and a few slab crappies. Here is a picture of a gill that was just under the 10 inch mark.

The best presentation was a Ratso tipped with a waxie. Best color was pink/white. Most of the fish were close to the bottom in 25 FOW. Planning to get back out on the lake today and will try to get more pictures.

Good Fishing,

Mike

Been fishing Rochester and the surrounding area for 40+ years. I love all the lakes, rivers, and impoundments around Rochester, as well as pool 4 of the Mississippi.

  1. Mike, that’s a “seriously NICE” gill in anybody’s book…way to go ! Hope you get out today, we’ll be looking for a new report this evening.

  2. Got out today with Greg, Ron, and Brian. The fish were not real cooperative, but we ended up with some nice fish. Same depth and presentation as yesterday.
Here is Brian and Ron with a few fish.

  3. The rough life while the rest of us work. Thanks for the report and pics. Any colors and type of jigs work best today?
    Thanks, Bill

  4. Tried several different colors and types today, but no particular lure was better than another.

  5. Thanks for the great time as always Mike!

I hope I don’t make you blush (again) but I have to say this in the open forum.

Many people don’t talk about were the fish are biting..for many differant reasons. Not saying that’s wrong, just saying for the latest bite action stop in a see Ol’ Mike at Hooked on Fishing…Not only is he an all around good guy, he’ll do his best to put you on fish!

Sorry if that sounds like an ad. It isn’t…just the facts!

  6. I readily agree with what Brian says about Mike. He is a guy who has fished for panfish all his life. He knows what the fish want and he carries it in his store. He wants you to catch fish and he will share everything he knows. He provides up to date fishing reports every week on the Rochester Area Lakes Mn. Forum to help people catch fish. Thanks Mike.
    Thanks, Bill
