Mille Lacs Lake Report 12-21-05

The Mud was good to me again today!!!! My first fish of the morning was one just shy of 29 inches and weighed in at over 10+ lbs!!!!!! Tom said it was one of the fattest walleye he had ever seen!!This fish bit before I even had the Mr.heater going. Today I had the opportunity to fish with Tom(aka Puddlepounder)Fellegy. He and I headed out around 7:30am this morning.

Our fish bit best right away this morning. At around 9am or so it pretty much died. Our afternoon bite was pretty slow also today…much different than it has been in the last few outings. Today was a very nice day to be fishing!!! Midday today….Tom and I were joking around and said we wished George from Hunters had a "Beer and Pizza truck" working the lake, as we would have liked having one stop by us!!!

Tom and I both fished just off the break on the flat this morning. We fished the top edge this late afternoon. The fish we did catch came on jigging spoons with just the head of a minnow. We ended the day catching around 20+ fish and kept some eaters to go home with!

The ice in the areas we fished was around 13+ inches. George at Hunters Point now has a road plowed out to the south end of the Boot Flat. The cracks that had been giving them problems out of Hunters have healed up and has allowed them to start pulling houses.

Nice report, and super pics I love to see the big gals, but that one of the sled and the Otter on the lake ought to be in a frame, or on a website
