Lake Zumbro Crappies, Bass and Other Species

Crappie Mike [HOF] and I snuck away from work again and fish of many species were waiting for us. It was another great day to be out doing some fall fishing and we were there to enjoy it. The first pic is Mike with a crappie.

The fish seem to be moving around some but once found you will be in for some good fall fishing. Today was a day for experimenting with different colors of Mini-Mites and found that different fish bit on different colors it seemed. Here is Mike with a bass caught on a Mini-Mite tipped with a waxie..

Even the strippers [whitebass] liked the Mini-Mites we had to offer. Lake Zumbro has alot of different fish species and may be caught by making adjustments in your presentation. Changing colors, raising your bait up off the bottom a foot or two, experimenting with the distance your bait is from the top of the water when jigging, and using a slip or clip-on bobber to hold your offering at a certain depth will all help to not only help you find the fish but also will aid you in catching different fish species.

And of course it just wouldn’t be the same without some nice bullgills on the end of your line when on Lake Zumbro. Gotta love how they fight. Nows the time to get in on some great fall fishing and we hope to hear from you on how you do on your fishing outtings. This is how we ALL learn from each other. Theres some great fishing to be had on the Rochester Area lakes and it is our goal to make anglers aware of it so they can enjoy time on the water close to home.

Thanks, Bill
