Fall Fishing On Lake Zumbro Is Where To Be

I spent Sunday fishing with my oldest grandaughter Brianna on Lake Zumbro fishing for big bluegills and perch and this gal was a ”fishin machine.” She knew exactly what to do and she caught fish after fish. It was great seeing the smiles on her face as she caught fish.

The fish were on the bottom so we were jigging real close to the bottom or just holding the bait about an inch or so off the bottom.

The bait of choice was again Mini-Mites tipped with a waxie. The very limber soft vibrating tail that jumps up and down with the slightest movement attracts the fishes attention and the waxie provides scent and meat to chomp on even though I think they try to eat the tail too.

The fall colors of leaves are quite the sight with the water at their base. It was a great day to be on the water and with a great fishing partner like Brianna it made it a very special day. Before putting the boat away for the year be sure and get out and enjoy some great fall fishing.

Thanks, Bill

  1. Hey Bill,

Those are some very nice bluegills!
Bright sunny fall day, very little wind, fall colors for a back ground and catching big bluegills with your granddaughter. Sounds like you two had a pretty good day!
