The action contiues to be good for walleyes on Mille Lacs. Trolling crank baits will put fish in your boat. Bobber fishing will also allow you to catch some dandy walleye on the shallow rock reefs like this 21 3/4 inch fish that my Golden Retriever helped net!
This past couple of days I have bobber fished Flamingo Reef on the eastside. Flamingo is holding some dandy fish, many in the 20-21 inch range. I have been using a green/orange 3/32 oz jig tipped with a leech with the wind and switching to just a plain hook if calm water exsists.
The crank baits that have put fish in my boat have been perch colored #7 shad raps, Rattlin Rogues, and Husky Jerks in fire tiger and clown colors! The depth that has been holding fish has been from 7-11 feet. I have caught some smaller walleye while pulling cranks. This tells me that even the smaller fish are on the feeding spree!
The October full moon is this weekend. Many fall fisherman will be out on the water in search of the walleye. Make sure to have all your gear ready. The fishing temperature has varied from pretty darn cold to fair temperatures…..you have to be prepared for whatever comes our way.
Good luck to all and I hope to see some of you around this weekend.
Thanks Bobber- great report. See ya in 5 days.
Bob,great to see that golden out in the boat. They sure like to help don’t they?
Best of luck on the full moon bite.

Thanks for the report Bud. Perfect timing. Was talking to a friend today who is heading up to the big pond middle of this upcoming week and I told him to check out the reports and Mille Lacs forum for updates on the fishing. Thanks.
Thanks, Bill
ps. How do you like that new Alumacraft boat and Johnson 4-stroke?
Bill, I really like the new rig! The 140 Johnson is a sweet runner…….the boat handle real well also, it also catch’s fish !!!
If it does ALL that then what do you do? Thanks Bud. Those new Alumacrafts sure have alot of room. Fished with Nate in his Alumacraft Navigator 175 this past Friday on Lake Pepin and really enjoyed a comfortable day of fishing. Tons of room and very easy to fish out of. Glad you like your new boat.
Thanks, Bill

Nice Fish and Pics BOB! Hope to see you in the next week or so!
Hello to everyone…..this is Travis Renville’s brother Brad. I was on the pond Sunday night with limited results. I fished Indian Point from 8 til 4AM. Caught a few but for the most part I found the bite to be a little slow for me. Water temps are looking excellent for the full moon….as of Sunday I found the temps to be around 54 degrees. I pretty much threw everything I had at them with the best results coming with the limited edition Mr. Walleye blue white and orange rattling rouge. I also caught a few on the fire tiger rapala and the orange and black huskyjerk. So far this year I was fortunate to land a nice healthy 28″ off the point which I promptly held up high showing Travis and the big guy in the sky!!!! I know he was smiling down on me cause right after thanking that big & beautiful girl for battle and releasing her……a falling star caught my attention. My plans are to be out there again this weekend with my deer hunting buddy…..this will be his first experience on the pond trolling for walleyes under the full moons light……good luck to all this weekend and have a safe and bountiful time on the pond!!!!!!!
