Summer Bluegills On Lake Zumbro Still Biting

The bluegills on Lake Zumbro are still hungry and waiting to be caught. With the weekend coming, and even nice summer evenings for those of us who can’t wait til the weekends get here, theres plenty of fish catchin action to be had.

My little fishin Bud and grandson Mitchell Severson was kind enough to put up with me driving around on a new kicker motor to get some time on it towards breaking it in so we had to stop for alittle bluegill fishing before going to watch the Tuesday night Bass Tournament weigh in on the Lake.

We didn’t have time to search for the big ones but Mitchell was very content with the faster action of the smaller size fish. Technique for the night was using waxies on a small hook about two feet below a bobber in 3-6 ft of water. We even moved out of the way for Brad Gravenhoff to fish through the area and still caught a few more too.

Mitchell is turning into a pretty good fisherman [hes ”hooked on fishing” for sure] and will be fishing with his uncle Nate Cadwell Friday on the Mississippi River for walleyes and will be Nates partner for the Walleye Searchers Bring A Friend Tournament Saturday. My partner will be my grandaughter Brianna Mulcahey. Kids hooked on fishing-it doesn’t get any better than that.

Thanks, Bill
