Walleye bite on Mille Lacs continues to be better than average for this time of year. The wife and I had the last couple days to pull some crankbaits on the flats and humps to see what there was to be seen. It’s always nice to have a weekday to run over these summer haunts with little as far as crowds go. On Monday we managed a few fish with the largest one to date for me coming loose beside the boat. It looked to me to be in the 30" range, but I will never know. I did get a good look at her before she decided it was time to go. Here is a healthy 25" much smaller fish I did win the battle with.
Tail Dancers off the flat breaks in 27 – 30ft produced best, with trolling speeds up in the 2.5 – 3mph range.
The fish showing up on the graph ranged from 10ft off the
bottom to laying on the bottom. In most cases if you see one fish, there where more. They did not seem to be scattered as much as they where a few weeks back.
Another 25" fish coming to the boat.
I spent lots of time learning my new toy in the boat. Wade at Jolly Ann Marine hooked me up with the Lowrance LMS332c with the navionics premium chip so buttons where being pushed constantly. The hands on way is the best way to learn and throw in a few fish and it doesn’t get any better.
The way the year has gone, It just makes me wonder what’s in store for the fall moon bite. I can’t wait!!

Nice report Doug
Sitting here at work and reading about mid-week fishing on Mille Lacs, sure helps the time go by, not to mention improving the frame of mind. Thanks for the relief

Nice fish Doug! Glad to see you getting the hang of the 332C. I hope you enjoy it!
Hook! I am bringing my stuff up! Are we still going to get out???
Tuck
I’ll be out Sunday with Jon Jordan.
Great report Doug!
I hope to also get around to fishing soon! Been doing the boat ride thing…….getting some time on the new motor. I’m glad your getting the hang of running the LMS 332C! I also purchased one from Wade at JollyAnn Marine. It is a nice unit for the price range. It’s taking some time to get used to the color display.
I can’t believe how much the LMS332c has made a change in my boat. The more I play, the better it gets. The zoom, range and sensitivity make all the differnce in the world. Like you Bobber, the color display gets some getting use to. But I am half way there and I LIKE it!
Dman……I wonder how many people will be at those exact waypoints this weekend in the tourney? Don’t go giving away too many pics with waypoints . I usually look for landmarks…you gave us coordinates!
Ahhhh Chris, Deb and I thought you’d hang around the house and entertain us
You two are going to have to figure out how to entertain yourselves this weekend, were fishing.
I think everythings ready Tuck, just gotta get out of here.
(ahh..that’s ok) With the amount of boats that where out there on Sunday there are plenty that have those coordinates already.
I was waiting for someone to say that!
I was planning on having coffee, walking around all day in my slippers, and going around the lake to meat raffles and I was told in “Expletive deleted” terms that I am not allowed to partake in your functions this weekend!
Besides, your hubby says I HAVE to go fishing!
Bring ear protection for the entertainment part!
