Last Saturday my brother and I went in search of some smallies and checking out some new water on pool 10. We were pleasantly suprised. We ended up catching a number of keeper smallies, with these two beauties as great kicker fish. The one went 19 3/4 in. and weighed 4.7 lb. and the other one was just a little over 3 lb. Both fish were released a live and well.
These fish were caught on Chug Bugs and Flukes around rock and sand that had a moderate amount of current on it.
In the afternoon we tried our luck in the pads and caught some nice fish on frogs and RC Tackle swimming jigs with K-Grubs. An important thing I have noticed is finding the right B-Fish-N grub for your trailier. I have been experimenting with colors and certain colors work better then others at certain times of the day. So be sure you have a lot of K-Grubs and don’t be afraid to try some odd color combos.
Here is my brother with a nice largemouth that hit his frog. The water on pool 10 is getting very low, so be careful where you are running. Be safe and good fishin!!
Nice smallies Glen
How was the grass in the main channel ? I was out on the beach for a short time today and there is a lot washed up on the islands
Nice Fish Glen…I’m sure we’ll be talking soon
Is that what that beer cost? J/k. I had my fluke on a spinnging rod for some reason, so that big girl gave me a little run
I had hoped The dreaded pool 10 grass would’nt appear this year
It isn’t too bad in some spots, but in others it is.
great post. Expereinced similar results last week, but nothing that big. Not so good the past few days. too much forage in the water?
Thanks Ted. This changing wheather isn’t helping em either. You been on pool 9 or pool 10.
