Fourth of July Pool 10 Bassin

The weather this Fourth of July weekend was beautiful and I got to spend three good days on the water. Fishing at times was spotty, but by the end of the weekend, the dominant pattern that I found was pad fields that had 3-5 feet of water and the clarity was good. Here is my brother with a nice fish that hit a B-Fish-N Tackle pearl Blue K-Grub.

Throwing frogs in a variety of colors produced some nice fish. It was important to have a follow up bait ready, because many bass would hit short and if you pitched back to the area with a tube or Sweet Beaver you would get bit. This fish hammered a frog.

If we weren’t getting bit all the way back in the pads, we were getting bites on the edges by throwing buzzbaits, which is how this one was caught.

Fishing for all species was good this weekend, we caught a few walleyes on cranks on the main channel. Throwing a 1/8 oz. B-Fish-N Tackle Super Doo jighead with a K-Grub produced fish. Here is my brother with a nice pike that hit a swimming jig.

On a side note, the SLOW NO WAKE ZONE on Ambro Slough is now being enforced. So be mindful to cabin owners and you won’t have to pay a ticket.
